Talent Biography
Kai Harney is a versatile saxophonist, producer, and composer based in Los Angeles, known for his dynamic presence on stage and across genres. A graduate of Illinois State University with a degree in music business and jazz performance, Kai studied under Dr. Paul Nolen and has since built a career that spans everything from solo work to leading horn sections.
Originally shaped by the blues scene in Chicago, Kai’s journey has taken him across the U.S. and around the world—performing in venues like House of Blues, Kingston Mines, Buddy Guy’s, and onboard cruise lines like Carnival and Holland America as a member of the BB King All-Stars. Whether he’s playing soprano, alto, tenor, bari, or bass sax, he brings depth and soul to every setting—big bands, orchestras, jazz combos, Latin quartets, and more.
Now, Kai is channeling his global experience into two original variety shows that celebrate the best of blues, soul, and R&B.
