Talent Biography

Kwame Michael Remy was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. His passion for music and the arts began at the tender age of three with his very first church solo “This Little light of mine.” In church is where he began to develop his gift and the lyrics to his first solo became his roadmap for success.

Kwame has performed all over the world as a Vocalist/Entertainer and Musical Theater performer. He is known for his soulful voice, range, and infectious energy. He has headlined on Land and Sea with credits such as the 60th Annual Grammy Awards performing supporting vocals for Sam Smith, in concert with the Puerto Rican Symphony Orchestra, and on Season 16 of America’s Got Talent performing with the NY Vocal group JWIS.

Kwame is the recipient of the 2019 Broadway World’s Best Lead Actor in a Musical Award for his portrayal of Lola/Simon in the pacific premiere of Kinky Boots the musical in Hawaii.

Kwame has appeared in several National and International touring productions of Broadway hit musicals such as “Smokey Joe’s Café,” “Jesus Christ Superstar,” “Five Guy’s Named Moe,” and the London and Holland productions of the Motown/Staxx Records Soul revue “Solid Gold Soul.” He appeared on Broadway as a featured vocalist in Linda Eder’s Christmas Stay’s The Same at The Gershwin Theater in NYC with the Broadway Gospel Choir.

He was the opening act for R&B artists including Grammy and Tony nominated recording artist Elisabeth Withers-Mendes of the musical The Color Purple.

Throughout his career he has shared the stage with artists such as CeCe Peniston, Mary J. Blige, Andrea Bocelli, Gloria Gaynor and has provided supporting vocals for artists such as Jennifer Nettles, Norm Lewis, Billy Porter, and Bebe Winans to name a few.

Kwame pays homage to Prince in this tour de force concert performing some of Prince’s biggest hits which he seamlessly infuses his personal journey through Prince’s Catalog. It is a toe tapping, hand clapping, dancing in the aisles good time.

‘STEVIE WONDERLAND’ is an evening celebrating the music of a living Legend the Incomparable Stevie Wonder. It is a musical journey through some of Stevie Wonder’s Iconic catalog. Kwame Remy pays tribute to this living legend backed by a 7-9 piece orchestra. Performing iconic hit’s such as All Is Fair In Love, Superstition, Higher Ground, I Just Called To Say I Love you and a host of other chart toppers penned by Wonder himself. Kwame debuted this show in Asia to a sold-out crowd and standing ovations
