Talent Biography

Reuben Laurente is a multi-awarded singer, songwriter, theater performer, album producer, and a three-time AWIT Awards nominee for Best Male Recording Artist of the year (1997, 2001, and 2007). He also represented the Philippines in four international music festivals in Manila (The First Philippine Int’l Music Festival 1995), Taiwan (Sounds Of the Human World 2004), and the U.S.A. (The 2003 USA Songwriting Competition as interpreter of the Best World Music song “Ikaw Ay Ikaw Pa Rin” by composers GJ German Gomez and Markel Luna; and the World Championships of the Performing Arts 2007).

In 2007, Reuben won an AWIT and an ALIW as a singer/songwriter, and as a live performer. In that same year, his album “Pop Virtuosity” won the Catholic Mass Media Award for best secular album of the year for D’Concorde producers Reck Cardinales, Rudy Ong, and himself. And Just a few years back, he was awarded the “2018 Best Male Concert Artist of the Year” and “2019 Best Cross-over Artist/Male Category” by the ALIW Awards, the Philippines’ award-giving body for live entertainment.

As a recording Artist, Reuben loves delving in different genres and has honed his voice to sing a variety of vocal styles; thanks to constant immersion to Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Brian McKnight, Harry Connick, Jr, and Mel Torme, just to name a few of his vocal influences. As an act, he loves doing an eclectic mix of songs that would showcase his versatility as a performer, and he describes his act in four words: ONE GLORIOUS MUSICAL CELEBRATION.
