BiographyStacey Kay was born and raised in Cambridge, Ontario and is now a recording artist residing in Toronto. She was a contestant on Season 10 of “America’s Got Talent”, advancing to the final rounds and receiving rave reviews from Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Mel B (aka Scary Spice). Stacey’s unique and powerful voice paired with her machine-gun rapping style has garnered her online videos millions of views! Fans say that Stacey “sings like Adele but raps like Busta Rhymes”. Stacey had a video go viral with over 40 million views by spontaneously performing one of Busta Rhymes’ fastest raps in a South Carolina Walgreens. The video was shared all over the world, and Chris Brown wrote an amazing article about her talents on his website. Her covers of several hit songs have garnered the respect and recognition from the original artists including Meghan Trainor, Iggy Azalea, Jennifer Hudson, and Mystikal, who have either tweeted her videos or posted them on Facebook. Recently, Stacey was very excited to learn that one of her influences, Fergie, featured her in a Glamour Magazine video. In this video, Fergie analyzes Stacey singing one of her own songs, and Fergie then raves about Stacey’s vocal ability and charisma. Stacey recently performed a duet with Cee Lo Green, singing his hit song “Forget You”. She also performed with Stevie Wonder’s band at a David Foster concert that included Gordon Lightfoot, Peter Cetera, Michael Bolton, and of course, Stevie Wonder himself. Stacey has had the honour of performing for Neil Young, Bruce Cockburn, and sang alongside k.d. lang at the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at Massey Hall as well as preforming an epic, cinematic duet with The Tenors at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival. She was also a member of Eh440, an award-winning, Toronto-based a cappella group, and starred in the Broadway National Tour of “Godspell”. This year Stacey released her first full length album titled “11 O’Clock Number”. Before the album was even released one of her songs, “Weight On My Shoulders”, won the Canadian Songwriters Award for best Adult Contemporary/Pop song of 2018, and her song “New Type” was featured on multiple popular playlists on Spotify. Stacey is excited to finally share her 14 song album filled with songs her fans have been waiting for. |
