Biography

Edmund Bagnell is equal parts vocalist and violinist and tours internationally with shows that blend a variety of musical genres into a seamless evening of entertainment. As noted by Broadway World, “Be it music made with lightning fast fingers on a fiddle, or a honeyed voice of dulcet notes both powerful or peaceful, it is a pleasure to watch this man at work.”  From pop, country, standards, Broadway, classical music, and beyond, audiences are taken on a thrilling musical journey.

His first solo album, Christmas at Home, was included on several best of lists including USA Today, and this past fall he released a new EP, The Road, which includes the original songs The Water and The Road.  Edmund has a wide range of performing experience including appearing as Tobias Ragg in John Doyle’s acclaimed staging of Sweeney Todd and singer and lead violinist in the internationally touring pop group, Well Strung which performed on the Today Show three times. ‘He Plays The Violin’ Is a funny and personable look at Edmund’s life in music. With roots in country music having grown up in the south, to classical masterpieces as a violinist, to Broadway hits having performing extensively as an actor, He Plays the Violin is an impressive exploration of these genres and all the influences in between.  The show concludes with an original piece written for the show by Broadway composer, Scott Frankel.
