Jared Freiburg and The Vagabonds

Act Information

Jared Freiburg (24) was born in Des Moines, IA to a childcare director and an accountant, neither of which were musicians. Around the age of 5, his Grandmother started him on piano and simultaneously exposed him to 40’s/50’s culture, bending his ear’s influence towards 1950’s Rock & Roll, Blues and Jazz. After classical piano lessons from age 6-13, Jared turned to playing completely by ear and spent most of his teens being heavily influenced to the singing and playing styles of Jerry Lee Lewis, Harry Connick Jr., Ray Charles, James Booker, Billy Joel, & Stevie Wonder, to name a few. As a senior in high-school, he was selected as one of two jazz tenor vocalists in the United States to represent The Grammy Foundation in “Grammy Jazz 23” – an All-American musical ensemble that performed a Los Angeles Tour which concluded with the 2015 Grammy Awards, and recorded a group album at Capitol Records, where he was featured as a soloist.

In the Fall of 2015, Jared attended the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music in Long Beach, CA as a Jazz Performance Major, but changed directions in the Spring of 2016 to pursue his professional career by opening Million Dollar Quartet on Norwegian Cruise Line – playing the role of “The Killer” Jerry Lee Lewis. Since then, he has done 10 different productions of that show around the globe as well as produced two of his own: “Jared Freiburg & The Vagabonds” and “The Killer Live! A Tribute to Jerry Lee Lewis” – where he performs internationally at land and sea for thousands.

Additionally, in 2019, Jared released his first original music after an April recording session in Valdosta, GA. In June of that year, the “Vagabond” EP was released that featured four of his original songs as well as two covers – and it has sold over a thousand CD and Vinyl copies to fans from 20 different countries – and yielded countless streams on all major Digital Media platforms.

In his free time beyond music, Jared enjoys dogs, meditation and writing, while growing his hobbies as an amateur poker player, stock investor, and video gamer.
